Processional Core

Processional Core

Associated with the traditional collections of material nature, there are also collections of immaterial nature, incorporating the set of practices, representations and expressions that directly relate to the social, cultural, and religious life of the Christian community. A great example of these practices are religious festivities, a sign of the dimension and presence of the sacred in everyday life and an integral part of the collective memory and the cultural and religious identity of the communities.

The cult is understood as the set of rites, ceremonies, symbolic gestures and organized and prescribed practices, manifesting their relationship with the Divine.

As a religious rite inserted in religious practice, the processions are part of popular religiosity carrying great symbolism. From the Latin, it means "to go forward," consisting of a solemn procession, accompanied by songs and prayers, expressed as an experience of faith in a culture.

In this context, the Processional Core has as its base of exposition to make known all the tools related to the rite of the processions inherent to the Parish in which it is inserted, from its preparation, that passes through the workshop where the lamps for decoration of the facade of the Church, as well as, the dismantled andores, until the procession exits, through the assembly of the andores, preparation of the rugs of street, tests of dresses of angels, etc.
